Since its announcement, Assassin's Creed III rocketed to the top to become one of the most anticipated games of the year ... and we have some exciting details that you will want to know.

Ubisoft's recently released details on the upcoming title is the most interesting concept for an AC game to date. Its a brilliant setting and it will be interesting to see how this ties in with the previous games. Assassin's Creed III ... "Ubisoft's biggest game to date" ... as been in development for over three years and will take place during the American Revolutionary period ... revolving around historical events from 1753 to 1783. Such events will include the Great Fire of New York and the winter at Valley Forge.

This latest assassin will be a half British, half Native American named Ratohnhaké:ton, better known as Conner, a direct descendant of Desmond Miles. Conner was raised among the Native American Mohawk tribe and is supposedly fighting against the British Red Coats.

Players will encounter historical figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Charles Lee. You will be able to explore the frontiers between New York and Boston, as well as Lexington and the Mohawk Valley. This explorable area is said to be 1.5 times larger than the map of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The game will use Ubisoft's newly updated Anvil engine and will support ten times more on screen characters, compared to previous games.

The game's environment will be somewhat similar to that of Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, in which you can hunt animals and sell their parts to earn money and to survive. The game will feature fast travel between previously visited locations, with dynamic weather effects affecting the player and the environment. Quests in AC III will be initiated via clubs ... such as a hunting club ... before going on missions. The series' notoriety system will return, under a different name, and players will be able to make money and own property.

Reports suggest that Desmond will be in the game. He will no longer be in a coma and will interact with Conner via the Animus 3.0. The game will still feature the key elements from previous titles, such as platforming, and the hidden blade. The tower defense strategy from Revelations will be absent in this title. Online multiplayer will return and support 2-8 players. No official word from Ubisoft suggest how this mode will change. There is also a rumor of a 2-4 player online cooperative mode ... this is still unconfirmed.Assassin's Creed III will be released October 30th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and the Nintendo Wii U.
