Ubisoft: 'Good chance' Rainbow 6: Patriots is next-gen game

Guillemot would not confirm if Rainbow 6: Patriots was in fact a next-generation game, but said, "There's a good chance it can be."

Next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony are being readied for launch during the back half of 2013, according to analysts.

This follows news from March, when it was reported that restructuring at Ubisoft Montreal led to the removal of creative director David Sears, narrative director Richard Rouse III, lead designer Philippe Therien, and animation director Brent George from the Rainbow Six: Patriots development team. Ubisoft since confirmed that Sears is off the project, and was replaced by new creative director Jean-Sebastien Decant.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is Amazon's most preordered game in the online retailer's history, the company announced today. According to a company representative, Black Ops dethroned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the top spot, "shattering" that game's record.
